Road safety in our sights

Monday, 06 May

It’s National Road Safety Week (6-12 May) and we are committed to ensuring our roads are safe for all.

Our recently refreshed Advocacy Strategy 2018-21 includes three key road safety projects for which we’re seeking Government support.

We want safety improved at the intersection of Lincoln Road, Bulla Road, Mount Alexander Road and Keilor Road in Essendon North.

We know you’re also concerned about safety at this intersection and we’re calling for a detailed, broad corridor review which addresses road safety, congestion, pedestrian, cycling and transport issues.

We also want to make sure that any plan to develop the Maribyrnong Defence Site along Raleigh Road and into Moonee Valley carefully considers the traffic and transport safety issues which may arise from a massive influx of residents in the area.

And finally, we’re eagerly awaiting the outcomes of the feasibility study into safety and amenity improvements at the Moonee Ponds Junction, which we received funding for from our local MP Danny Pearson as part of the 2018 State Election campaign.

Find out more about these priorities, and help us advocate for Moonee Valley and keep the spotlight on safety, at our Advocacy YourSay page.

Stay safe on our roads.
